Let’s take a walk! Come get some steps in this Winter and connect with neighbors as we trek from Starr Hill Brewery to the Star and back!
There are multiple “Star” options so you can choose the distance that works for you:
• Option 1: The 1-Mile Trek: A shorter walk for those just looking for a quick outing. Turn around at Star Market, at the corner of Walnut Ave & Hamilton Terrace, and return to the brewery.
• Option 2: The 2-Mile Trek: A moderate walk to get your heart rate up a bit—head up Walnut Ave until you get to the wooden Star marker attached to the stop sign at Sylvan Rd, then turn around and head back to the brewery.
• Option 3: The Full Star Trek (approx. 5 miles round trip!): Hang a right on Sylvan Ave to take the “old road” all the way to the top of Mill Mountain to see the Roanoke Star and enjoy the views before returning down the mountain.
What to Expect:
The full trip involves walking on paved surface with some incline on the 2 and 5 mile treks. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
Afterwards, all walkers are invited to gather back at the Starr Hill taproom at 6 Old Whitmore Ave, Roanoke, VA 24016 to socialize, relax, and grab a well-deserved drink.
